Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine accepted electronic versions of the scientific journal Politicus for the repository storage; they are posted on the portal of the scientific periodicals of Ukraine.
The journal is indexed in the International scientometric Database Google Scholar.
The journal is included in the scientometric Databases Index Copernicus International (the Republic of Poland), Scilit (Switzerland), WorldCat, Open Ukrainian Citation Index.
The purpose of the scientific journal is to present the results of contemporary research in the fields of political science and sociology, to promote the development of theoretical and applied studies of political and social processes, and to contribute to the scientific understanding of the functioning of political institutions, social transformations, and the interaction between the state and society.
Main Objectives:
- to publish the results of fundamental and applied scientific research in political science and sociology;
- to highlight current issues in the theory and history of political science;
- to study political institutions, political processes, and mechanisms of public administration;
- to analyze political culture, political ideology, and social values;
- to publish research in the fields of ethnopolitology and ethnostate studies;
- to present sociological studies of social processes, social change, and the interaction between politics and society;
- to promote the development of interdisciplinary research in political science and sociology;
- to support young scholars and provide opportunities for publishing the results of their scientific research;
- to facilitate the exchange of scientific ideas and research results among scholars, lecturers, postgraduate students, and practitioners.
The scientific journal publishes articles on the theory and history of political science, political institutions and processes, political culture and ideology, ethnopolitology and ethnostate studies, as well as other areas of political science and sociology. Articles may be submitted in Ukrainian, English, German, or Polish.
The periodical is intended for researchers, Doctors of Sciences, Candidates of Sciences (PhD), university lecturers, postgraduate students, and students, as well as for a wide audience interested in the issues of contemporary political science and sociology.
The Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Politicus” accepts for publication original scientific articles that have not been previously published in other journals. When preparing manuscripts, authors must comply with the current standards for academic publications and the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Open Access Statement
The Editorial Board of the journal “Politicus” is guided in its work by international ethics of scientific publications and maintains a policy of open access. All articles submitted to the Editorial Office, on a mandatory basis are reviewed and checked for plagiarism.
The scientific journal provides immediate open access. Full-text access to scientific articles of the journal is presented on the official website in the Archive and Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
All marked answers the rules of the Committee on ethics in publications – Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
According to conditions the authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal.
The Author shall transfer to the editorial board of the journal the right to spread the electronic version of the article to placement at the official website, databases, repositories, etc.
The Author shall reserve the right to use materials of the article; post electronic resources of the article on personal web resources, electronic repositories of institutes or universities where the author is employed, non-profit public access web resources. In all cases, it is obligatory to have a reference to the article or an electronic copy placed at the official website of the journal.
Like most scientific editions the journal “Politicus” works by the Creative Commons Attribution International CC-BY. It allows users to read, download, copy, spread, print, search, quote or refer to the full text of a scientific article in this scientific publication – it is obligatory to have a bibliographic reference to the paper, or a hyperlink to its electronic copy placed at the official website of the journal.
Archiving and Long-Term Preservation Policy
The journal ensures reliable and long-term preservation of all published materials in accordance with international digital archiving standards.
To safeguard scientific content:
all journal issues are archived in the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine;
articles are deposited in the institutional repositories of universities collaborating with the authors.
Each published article:
is permanently available on the journal website without time limitations;
has a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier), ensuring stable and long-term access.
Open Data Policy
The journal encourages authors to deposit all data supporting the results of their research in open repositories (institutional, national, or international), in line with FAIR principles. A DOI or other persistent data identifier should be provided in the article metadata and/or in the Data Availability section.
